Even though I have four 4' florescent tubes over my lathe, the light was insufficient. This "Loading Dock Light" solved the problem. Now with 7,000 lumens right over the work, I have perfect light. The moveable arm allows for relocation for different projects. I able to move the head down to the center of the lathe to light up the inside of a deep bowl or place it over the top for spindle work. It is made extremely rigid, with a great finish. I am very pleased with the product, and to finally have enough light. So I guess it's not just for loading docks.Follow up: I was so pleased with my first light over my lathe, a few weeks later I ordered a second one for my Disk / Belt Sander. No matter how bright the room is, I still need task lighting for detailed work. This light is amazing, easy to install and very high quality finish. It was shipped in the manufactures box and even though the box took a beating, the light came out unscathed. I would highly recommend.
I mounted the arm to my teardrop pallet rack upright using (2) National catalog model No. 2192BC square U bolts. That is 3/8 x 3" x 7" and fit perfectly around the upright and into the holes on the mounting plates.A few minor issues:The button on the light is a metal push button located on the back heatsink of the light. You have to hold the hot light to turn on and off. I do not like that you have to hold what is basically the heatsink of the light to be able to press the button. In addition, the light is mounted high so a remote inline switch would be preferred and I plan to implement that. The second issue is the gimble that holds the light is held on with a knob that allows you to swivel the gimble. There is one nylon washer included for this joint and no matter where you put it, rotating the lamp will untighten the knob holding it all together. I'm going to try adding a few additional washers, silicone lube and if that does not work I may end up locktighting the knobs. The whole arm is pretty stiff as it comes preassembled. I prefer it that way so it stays put but it does take some force to move it. You could put a drop of silicone on the washers or loosen the bolts a little. The good stuff:It is very stable and very bright. There are many ways that you can bolt it together if you want the joints to be able to flex perpendicular to the way the factory put it together. You could easily mount a second light on the mast.
Bright and capable of lighting a distance of more than 60ft. Very useful when loading containers.
Ordered this for my husband's shop. He is always looking for more light, especially when he has a car up on the lift. This is the perfect solution. He mounted it on the wall so he can push it out of his way. It extends out easily and the light itself can be positioned in any direction needed. The light is very bright and has a cage protecting the bulb. It's industrial quality and a great addition to any shop. Highly recommend.
This light is sturdy and well-made. The light is bright and good for garages or workshops. The arm is adjustable so it can be positioned to pointe where light is needed. The head is also maneuverable. This was easy to install, and the instructions are clear. Overall a good light.
I ordered this loading dock light quite a while ago and only now had a chance to unpack and try it out. I don't have a loading dock but as a DIY enthusiast and someone who frequently works on projects in my garage, I was looking for a robust, adaptable lighting solution that could illuminate specific areas for tasks like engine work, welding, or woodworking. This product seemed promising, but let's dive into the details of my experience with it.Upon receiving the package, I was pleased to find that the light arrived well-packaged and intact. The initial setup was straightforward, and I appreciated that it didn't require extensive assembly. The design seemed rugged, and the steel construction felt extremely durable. The two-piece folding arm, which extends up to 40 inches, offers the flexibility I was looking for. It appears as though I could position the light precisely where I needed it, which was a major selling point. The light emitted a powerful and bright glow, with over 7000 lumens of light output. The LED lamp head could be rotated a full 360 degrees, allowing for comprehensive coverage of my work area. The robust arm and metal construction gave me the confidence that this light could handle heavy use. The IP65 rating is reassuring, as it indicates durability and protection against dust and water, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The installation process was smooth, thanks to clear instructions that helped me set it up quickly. Additionally, the ETL certification added an extra layer of safety assurance, which I appreciated.Pro-tips. This thing is really heavy. When mounting the light, ensure it's securely anchored to provide stability and safety of operation. Also, it's a good idea to loosen the arm bolts slightly to make adjustments easier. Consider using this light in combination with other lighting sources for finer or more "intricate" work.Talking about issues and potential improvements, one aspect that left room for improvement was the light's brightness. It's really bright, I'd say blindingly bright. While it illuminates larger areas effectively, I found that the lack of brightness adjustment causes overexposure and eye fatigue when used in "close up" lighting scenarios. This is something potential buyers should keep in mind, especially if they require very bright, focused lighting. Furthermore, it would be helpful if the product came with the necessary mounting hardware. The absence of mounting bolts meant an additional trip to the hardware store for me. Providing these essential components would make the installation process more convenient. In conclusion, this bright and versatile industrial work light is a well-made, heavy-duty lighting solution with several desirable features. Its robust construction, flexible arm, and bright illumination make it a valuable addition to any workspace. However, it may fall short if you require extremely intense lighting for intricate tasks. The absence of mounting hardware was a minor inconvenience but not a deal-breaker.*** TL;DR ***I recommend this G GJIA 50W LED Loading Dock Light with 40" Folding Arm, 7,000 Lumens, 360 Rotatable Lamp Head for those in need of a durable, adaptable, and bright lighting solution for their workspace. While it has a few limitations in terms of non-adjustable brightness for detailed close-up work and lacks mounting hardware, its overall performance and sturdiness make it a valuable tool for DIY enthusiasts and professionals. Solid 5 stars product!+++ Pros +++1) Sturdy and durable construction.2) Bright and adjustable illumination.3) Flexible two-piece folding arm.4) Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.5) Clear and straightforward installation process.--- Cons ---1) Too bright for detailed close-up work.2) There is no way to adjust brightness.3) Lacks mounting hardware, you have to purchase it.
The 40" folding arm is a practical design choice that offers flexibility in positioning the light. Whether it's trailers, docks, warehouses, or containers, this light covers them all. The IP65 rating ensures durability and protection against dust and water, making it suitable for outdoor as well as indoor use.Installation was a breeze; the clear instructions helped me set it up quickly. The sturdiness of the construction gives me confidence in its longevity. Plus, being ETL listed adds an extra layer of safety assurance.
This Led dock light is bright. It has 2 arms that swivel, as well as a light for your convenience. It is very bright, like a spotlight. You are able to switch around the main bracket to change the direction of the light based your needs. It does not come with hardware, I used what i had lying around. It is easy to set up and install. It has a push button on back of light.Overall, it is very well made, bright, heavy duty, and durable. I recommend it.
This light is extremely well built and very bright. I have the 50w version. It comes well packed and is mostly assembled. The only thing you have to do is mount it and attach the light. That's it. Couldn't be much simpler. The frame and all brackets are heavy gauge steel that appears to be powder coated, or at least painted with a thick coat of enamel. The LED fixture is pretty heavy and has built in cooling fins and a metal mesh lens protector.Everything about this is quality.I mounted it next to one of the overhead doors in my shop so that I could position it to light things up inside the shop or also out in front of the shop. You can adjust the arm the light is mounted to not only horizontally but also up and down. The light is very bright and very white. It easily lights up the entire area in front of my shop. Makes it so now I can work on projects further in to the night.
This particular light caught my interest since it looked heavy duty and has an arm that allows the light to be moved in multiple directions. The light looks and feels solid, it has a metal body and also a metal cage around the light. The light has 20 LED arrays with 4 bright LED's in each array which comes to 80 LED's. The arm is made of sturdy metal and has a nice yellow paint. The plug and attachments look heavy duty. The light was easy to set up out of the box. One thing to note though is the hardware to attach the light to the wall does not come with it, so I had to buy the hardware separately to attach to my garage wall.Overall the light is Heavy-Duty and will light up an area that needs extra light.
On some items I review - if it appears to be a quality item - I might have to do a bit of salesmanship to encourage a purchase. But on this Loading Dock Light, it's such a quality product it easily sells itself. A few notes to explain my meaning:* The first thing I noticed after opening the box was the incredibly sturdy construction of this dock light. As my eyes perused the various components assembled to create this light, e.g., bolts, nuts, washers, electrical cables, plastic knobs, grommets, etc, I immediately concluded this product is built to last a long time.* With very simple installation procedures (in most applications) this light can be mounted and ready for use in half an hour.NOTE: The assembly instructions were simple, but the font & diagrams were a slight bit too small for my 67 year old eyes to easily read.* With a two piece folding arm extending up to 40 inches, as well as an LED lamp head which has the ability to rotate 360, you have maximum flexibility in your use of it.* And with that lamp head putting out over 4000 lm of light, it's unlikely there will be any pockets of darkness to hinder whatever work you're seeking to accomplish during the time you're using this light.NOTE: If you notice the picture I took of one aspect of the instructions, it appears as though there are two electrical receptacles mounted on the folding arm - but there are not. Thus I'm confused why this picture (and one other similar to it) is in the instructions.
